Judgment in the fraud and corruption trial of former Finance MEC Wendy Nelson and former Health Department HOD Thabo Lekalakala has been set for the 8th and 9th November 2021 by the North West high court in Mahikeng.
Both the prosecution and the defence in the trial have wrapped up their oral heads of argument.
The National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson in North West, Henry Mamothame says the matter is now in the hands of the judge.
“We are confident about what we presented at court but as you know that entirely rest with the judge as to who manage to persuade on their case. Now as we await the judgment. I would say we are confident towards what we had presented based on evidence that we introduced in court,” says Mamothame.
