The High Court in Bloemfontein has granted the Hawks an R18 million forfeiture order against four companies implicated in allegations of theft and money laundering.

It’s alleged that the companies received money from the Central Bank of Lesotho under suspicious circumstances.

The four Ficksburg-based companies are Nivana Holdings, Traggology, Stone Curfew Holdings and Sunny Penny. Free State Hawks spokesperson, Christopher Singo says the criminal investigation continues.

“It is further alleged that the payments were made with the assistance of internal Lesotho government officials by intercepting legitimate vouchers that were authorised for services provided by other companies. On Friday, 01 October 2021, the matter was assigned to the Hawks’ Priority Crime Specialised Investigation (PCSI) based in Bloemfontein. This has now culminated in the forfeiture order being granted on Thursday, 24 March 2022.”
