South African is mourning one of its artistic giants, Jonas Gwangwa. The creative genius passed away on Saturday at the age of 83.
His passing came a little over two weeks after the passing of his wife, mam’Violet.
Gwangwa has graced the music scene for more than 40 years, keeping the music playing even during the dark days of apartheid after it became illegal for Black people to congregate and musicians were also jailed for practising their craft.
Below are some of his hit songs that have kept the world enthralled over the years.
- Flowers Of The Nation
- Batsumi
- Shebeen
- Morwa
- Kgomo
When 8pm was 8pm!
