At least 400 people have been left homeless after a fire gutted more than 100 informal dwellings at the Drommedaris informal settlement in Paarl, in the Boland, Western Cape.
The cause of the blaze is unknown.
Relief agencies are expected to supply aid to affected residents.

Humanitarian relief organisation, Gift of the Givers, says they will be visiting the area to offer their assistance on Sunday.
Relief coordinator, Ali Sablay says they’ll be delivering hot meals, blankets, mattresses, water and hygiene packs to the affected families.

Fire crews remain on high alert following two fires in Ceres
Fire crews in Ceres, in Western Cape, have spent the night monitoring two fires that broke out in the area. The Cape Winelands District Municipality Spokesperson, Anesca Roodt says both fires were contained.
