Fight for Palestine will not end with ICJ ruling: Allan Boesak

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Anti-apartheid cleric, Dr Allan Boesak, says the fight for the freedom of Palestine will not end with the ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Boesak was delivering a guest lecture at a mosque in Worcester in the Boland.

The court in The Hague has ordered that Israel take immediate and effective measures to enable the provision of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance in the Gaza Strip.

It says Palestinians have a right to be protected from acts of genocide.

Boesak says there is a huge obligation on members of the United Nations to act upon the judgment of the IJC.

He says the outcome at The Hague does not signal the end to the growing opposition to the Palestinian situation.

The cleric says he doesn’t believe that a two-state solution for the region is a possibility anymore.

Instead, he thinks a non-religious, democratic state where everyone is equal before the law must come about.
