Eskom says it has been granted permission to have the N1 highway closed temporarily on Sunday in both directions between the William Nicol and Rivonia offramps to allow for the replacement of cables.
A section of Witkoppen Road will also be closed.
The closures will be from 08:00 on Sunday morning until 16:00 on Sunday afternoon. There will be periods when partial traffic flow will be allowed.
Eskom has apologised for the inconvenience caused to motorists.
