EPL releases revised fixture list

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The English Premier League has released its revised fixture list for the first three weeks of the season, which resumes on 17 June.

Second-placed Manchester City will host Arsenal on that day while Liverpool will continue their quest for title glory against Everton on 21 June.

City and The Reds will then do battle on 22 July. Third-placed Leicester City will travel to Watford for their clash on 20 June.

No fans will be present at the games, but all matches will be broadcast live.

The Premier League announced at the end of May that four players had tested positive for COVID-19.

“The Premier League can today confirm that on Monday 25 May and Tuesday 26 May, 1008 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, four have tested positive from three clubs… Players or Club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate for a period of seven days,” the league said in a statement.

Since players returned to limited group training, 12 positive tests for the virus have been confirmed at England’s top-flight clubs.

In Nam Dinh City, however, thousands of fans poured into stadiums as the country resumed its top-flight soccer league. No social distancing rules or cubs on crowd sizes were put in place.

Matches in Vietnam’s professional league were also suspended in March, but with no COVID-19 deaths and just 328 confirmed cases, the country is eagerly pursuing a return to normality.

Hand sanitisers were, however, available and stewards performed temperature checks on fans.
