In the 2019 elections, the party will be vying for seats in the National Assembly and in five provincial legislatures – in the North West , Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo.

Women Forward was formed in 2009 to advance women’s agenda. It is led by gender activist Nana Ngobese, who is the grand-daughter of Nobel Peace laureate Albert Luthuli.

The party manifesto 2019:

The upcoming elections will be a second time the party is seeking to win the hearts and minds of South Africans.

It contested in the 2009 general elections but only managed to secure a little over 5 000 votes.
