The Department of Energy will on Tuesday brief Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Energy on the fuel price.
South Africans have suffered several fuel price hikes this year including the annual fuel levy hike which some opposition parties and civil society organisations have been calling for a 20% reduction.
The price of petrol has risen to over R16 a litre in the country.
There have been several protests around the country calling on government to cushion consumers against the high fuel price.
