Clean-up operations are underway at the Sun City resort in the North West following a hailstorm that hit the region of Pilanesburg and surrounding areas on Saturday afternoon. It has caused significant damage to buildings and vehicles.
At least 200 rooms are reported to have been damaged, as well as the Gary Player country club. The storm forced resort management to evacuate day visitors.
Affected guests have been requested to return home.
Sun International says the resort’s emergency services are assessing the extent of the damage.
