The Department of International Relations and Cooperation says there are some challenges regarding the evacuation operation from Sudan.
It says some South Africans and other nationals could not cross into Egypt as agreed because they did not have their travelling documents.
Countries are evacuating their citizens from the war-torn country following clashes between the Sudanese army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
Departmental spokesperson Clayson Monyela says everyone will be assisted.
“From the group that we evacuated from Sudan, there are several nationals that didn’t bring their travel documents with….the other nationals were allowed to cross into Egypt.”

The individuals left passports in Sudan. None of them are undocumented.
