The entertainment service has announced a list of breakthrough local movies of the past 10-years that has been re-released for the Summer Holiday.

The video-on-demand service, Showmax, says the past decade saw African films make more headlines at the biggest international festivals, earning Oscar and Golden Globe nominations along the way.

On the list is the pioneering and acclaimed animation film, “Revolting Rhymes“, the boundary- shifting documentary movie about the former Public Protector- Thuli Madonsela, “Whispering Truth to Power”, the controversial and much- talked about flick, ” Inxeba” (the wound), as well as the television teen- drama film, “Is’thunzi “.
