A total of 94 new COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in South Africa as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa climbs to 87 715. The death toll is currently at 1 831.
The Health Department said on Friday that 27 deaths recorded are from Gauteng; 7 from KwaZulu Natal, and 60 from Western Cape.

The total number of recoveries is now at 47 825 which translates to 54,5%

The Western Cape is leading with 4 8706 of confirmed COVID-19 cases which translates to 55,5% of all the confirmed cases in the country and 1 360 fatalities.
Eastern Cape is second with 13 506 cases which make 15,4% of the national COVID-19 number with 257 deaths.
