Reading Time: 2 minutes

Final preparations are being implemented by Limpopo Education Department ahead of the start of the 2023 final examinations later this month.

The focus has been placed on enrichment programmes as one of the ways to improve matric results.

Learners at Pax Secondary School outside Polokwane have been participating in an enrichment programme along with learners from other schools.

Some learners have expressed different levels of being ready to sit for the final exams.

“My level of preparedness, I am at about 30%, my determination towards my studies has also helped with that.”

“I would say up to this point I am about 90% prepared. I have been putting in a lot of effort for the entire year and I finally feel I start reaping the benefits of that.”

“We promised the MEC of Education that we would have distinctions and many of us would get above 80% averages.”

Limpopo Education MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, says she will be visiting enrichment centres across the province to motivate the learners to do well.

“This year they have just finished their trials and when they have just finished their trials, now they are in the camp, we have already done a countdown for them to start writing at the end of the month. So, we think the time is very very little, to get that support from our psychologists, so we are tightening up the screws, don’t just say we will stay down there, we are going up.”
