50 more COVID-19 related deaths in SA

A total of 761 534 tests have been conducted, 18 792 tests have been conducted since the last report

Fifty more people have died of COVID-19 related deaths in South Africa. This brings the total national deaths to 755.

“We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased,” says the Department of Health in a statement.

Currently, confirmed cases of the virus are 35 812.  The Western Cape accounts for 65.9% of the total number of cases.  The province has 23583 cases and 568 deaths.

A total of 761 534 tests have been conducted, 18 792 tests have been conducted since the last report. The recoveries to date are 18 313, which translates to a recovery rate of 51,1%.

Regrettably, we report 50 more #COVID19 related deaths- total is 755.
We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care
workers who treated the deceased.
