Democratic Alliance (DA) leader, Mmusi Maimane, says if voted into power during next week’s elections he will set the country back on a growth path.
He was addressing a packed Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto during his party’s final election rally, dubbed Diphetogo.
The DA says this is a culmination of weeks of long but good campaigning. Central to its campaign, the official opposition party wants to build One South Africa for All, end corruption and ensure one job per household.
“We will put our country back onto a path of growth. Not 1% or 1.5 but proper, sustained growth that will bring millions of jobs and put a job in every home. We’re gonna cut the size of the cabinet by half, trim away all these luxuries that the ANC government has become too used to so we can increase the child grant.
Maimane says the party will ensure the police system is honest, professional, highly trained and motivated.
