More than 250 000 tourists visited the Kruger National Park this past festive season.
According to officials at the park there has been a significant increase on the number of domestic tourists who came to visit the park.
SANparks spokesperson Ike Phaahla says of the 250 000 people who visited the park , 70% were South Africans.
He says day visitor facilities were very busy and there were no incidents to report.
“We had an accident free festive season and we are grateful to the visitors for behaving and cooperating with our staff. We are very glad we had dedicated staff who were there to make sure that people visiting the park had an enjoyable time.”
