Northern Junior Squash Association (NJSA) Champion Awande Malinga is looking forward to defend her first position in a closed tournament in Pretoria’s Tuks Squash Courts this coming weekend from the 10th – 12th May.
The 13 year old Malinga is rising through the ranks and recently finished in the second place in the Girls Under 16 at the SA Schools Closed squash tournament at Parkview Squash Centre.
This tournament is a qualifier to represent Gauteng North and NJSA during the upcoming 14-19 June 2019 Inter-provincial Tournament in Bloemfontein later in the year.
Malinga, who has Professional Squash Association (PSA) enjoys competing with players of her same age group as well as the Under 17 (Senior Level).
Though the young squash sensation excels in her age group as well as in the senior level where she usually competes, she does not take her opponents for granted. – Report by Sinovuyo Ndudane
