DA leader Mmusi Maimane has pleaded with Christians to take the lead in fighting social ills and in advocating for a just society. Maimane was at the Anglican Church in East London with the party’s Eastern Cape leadership led by Nqaba Bhanga. The visit forms part of the party’s Kasi to Kasi tour aimed at engaging residents in the province.

Bringing the DA to the kasi, their first stop the Anglican Church. Maimane pleaded with congregants to make a difference.
“Church has a very powerful opportunity to play a crucial role in society in helping us build this one South Africa for all. The South Africa where all our kids are able to find work and then every home there is a job, and so this is ultimately today I came. It’s a special celebration and I’m most privileged to have been here.”
These are sentiments that resonated well with worshippers.
Maimane has also called on South Africans to pray for a peaceful period leading up to the national elections, not forgetting political leaders in their prayers.
