Reading Time: < 1 minute

The City of Cape Town is offering free winter programmes for school children who will be on holiday during the school holidays in June.

The programmes  will be at the City’s  recreational facilities and libraries.

Mayoral Committee Member for Social Services, JP Smith, says the list of activities to keep young minds busy is exhaustive.

He says the City is encouraging parents to send their children to these programmes not only to keep them safe and busy, but also to give them the opportunity to socialise and learn.

“No one has to be bored this Winter school holiday. The Recreation and Parks Department has a diverse range of both indoor and outdoor activities on offer at its hubs – from board games and sport, to dancing and face-painting. In addition to the usual selection of books and audio-visual materials on offer at libraries, children can enjoy puppet shows, arts and crafts and talent shows.”
