With just over 2.5 million votes that have been counted, the African National Congress (ANC) has taken the lead in Gauteng followed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
In the Western Cape, the DA is leading followed by the ANC and Patricia de Lille’s GOOD party.
Currently there’s steady progress in the counting of votes and results are slowly trickling in.
About 21.76 % of the votes have been counted.
