President Jacob Zuma will no longer be attending the African National Congress’ KwaZulu-Natal Provincial General Council in Durban, where he had been expected to attend.
No reasons have been given at this stage for his absence.
Party presidential hopeful Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has, however, been welcomed by a number of delegates at the Provincial General Council.
KwaZulu-Natal gave her strong support with 454 nominations for the ANC’s top post.
However, Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa also made a strong showing with 191 nominations or close to 30% of the provincial vote.
