Zuma to release report on status of women in the economy

President Jacob Zuma is set to release the first report on the status of women in South Africa’s economy. The report will be part of 2015 Women’s Day national celebrations in Sasolburg in the Free State.

African Union Commission chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says women are capable of playing important leadership roles in society. She is in the country to attend the ANC Women’s League conference and the celebrations.

Commissioner Nomasonto Mazibuko says women should focus on empowering themselves

Meanwhile Gender-based violence remains the biggest challenge that South African women are facing. This is according to the Commission of Gender Equality.

Commissioner Nomasonto Mazibuko says women should focus on empowering themselves with education. “Taking a decision to say I am going to stand up as a woman and look at the issues that affects the society”
