Zuma supporters vocal at Mangaung Conference

A group of ANC President Jacob Zuma’s supporters are singing songs at one of the entrances to the University of Free State, affirming him as their choice for a second term as party leader.Delegates and media attending the ANC’s 53rdNational Conference currently underway in Mangaung in Bloemfontein were greeted with song and dance calling for Zuma to be re-elected and Kgalema Motlanthe to be replaced.One of the Zulu songs translates as “we will see each other later. Kgalema is out”.Zuma came into the conference with the majority of provinces nominating him for re-election. He was backed by six provinces and the women’s and veterans leagues.Motlanthe was nominated by three provinces and the Youth League. His supporters have been more reserved in their support.
