The ANC, like other parties, has intensified its election campaign in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, using high-ranking leaders to attract voters.

Former African National Congress (ANC) President, Jacob Zuma, is expected to address party supporters at the final KwaZulu-Natal Siyanqoba Rally in Edendale outside Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.

ANC heavyweights, including party leader Cyril Ramaphosa and former president Kgalema Motlanthe have also been on the campaign trail in the province this weekend.

KwaZulu-Natal is seen as a key province for the party, who have recently faced concerns over factions and political killings.

The party in the Moses Mabhida region has had its fair share of problems, including the region taking the party to court over its elective conference.

More recently, the ANC suffered another blow in the province when the Umsunduzi Municipality was placed under administration.
