Reading Time: < 1 minute

President Jacob Zuma and his deputy Cyril Ramaphosa will be in Parliament this week.

Ramaphosa will answer questions in the National Council of Provinces on Wednesday while Zuma will be in the National Assembly on Thursday.

The inquiry into State Capture and Eskom’s affairs will also resume this week.

Parliament’s spokesperson, Moloto Mothapo says, “We always rely on every business of the house being conducted with strict observance to the existing rules, as well as the laws of the country and we are hopeful that will remain the same throughout all the sittings that will be taking place this week.”

Meanwhile, President Zuma is seeking to challenge the remedial actions of former Public Protector, Thuli Madonsela’s State of Capture report on grounds that she did not have powers to instruct the head of state.

Madonsela recommended that Zuma establish a commission of inquiry to be headed by a judge to further investigate allegations of state capture.
