Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh says that the president is willing to go against the wishes of the top six.

Political commentator Sizwe Mpofu-Walsh says the issue around the impeachment of President Jacob Zuma is an exhibition of a similar trend where the public gets excited over the imminent departure of the unpopular president.

This comes after Sunday night’s African National Congress (ANC) top six meeting to decide on fate of President Jacob Zuma.

It took place as we step into a week in which parliament is supposed to host the State of the Nation Address, which the opposition wants postponed.

This all follows several other major developments in the country, including a New Board at Eskom.

“It is clear that the President is willing to go against the wishes of the top six and possibly the National Working Committee and will fight very hard even if an NEC meeting is called.”
