Former President Jacob Zuma has called on church leaders to pray for the country’s leaders and a peaceful upcoming election. He was addressing thousands of church goers in eSikhaleni, on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast.

It’s Easter weekend and former President is doing his part by visiting churches in KwaZulu-Natal. On Sunday he visited members of the Covenant Congregational Church.

Zuma also used the occasion to lambaste corruption and dishonesty.

On Friday, Zuma will make his first court appearance at the Durban High Court since the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) reinstated his corruption charges.

The former president faces 18 counts of fraud and corruption.

The state is expected to call over 200 witnesses to testify.
