A suspect has been arrested for the murder of 29-year-old Zinhle Muthwa in Umbumbulu, south of Durban.
Muthwa went missing on the morning of the 31st of December in New Germany.
Her body was found the next day next to a road in the Ndaya Reserve.
She had a gunshot wound to the head as well as other head injuries.
KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Khombinkosi Jula says the suspect will appear in court on Monday.
“A case of murder was opened at Umbumbulu SAPS for further investigations. Detectives led by the station commander of Umbumbulu followed up on information regarding the suspect involved in the murder of Zinhle Muthwa. A 30-year-old suspect was arrested at Umbumbulu after an intensive investigation and a firearm that was used in the commission of Zinhle’s murder was confiscated. The suspect will appear at the Umbumbulu Magistrate Court tomorrow (Monday),” says Jula.
