Zim nationals express disappointment in Mugabe’s defiance

Reading Time: < 1 minute

As thousands of Zimbabwean nationals around the world expressed their disappointment that President Robert Mugabe did not resign Sunday night, some Zimbabwean nationals at the Beit Bridge border post in Limpopo came out in his defence.

This is what some Zimbabweans at the border had to say.

“I think we should also appreciate  and applaud him for all the changes he made in Zimbabwe since the independence from 1980. There are so many things that we can see, he has built some schools, some roads, some universities built during his time but now I think he has become old,” says a Zimbabwean.

Another Zimbabwean says, “Half a bread is better than nothing, people who are wrong are the people around him, not him himself.”

“Queen Victoria ruled Britain for 63 years, so Mugabe 37, it’s too early,” says another Zimbabwean.
