KwaZulu-Natal Economic Development MEC Sihle Zikalala is set to lead talks aimed at facilitating a peace process between warring factions in the Eshowe area on the province’s north coast.
The farming community and surrounding communities of uMlalazi are involved in hostilities that resulted with the burning down of a farmhouse and farms in the area.
This after a security guard, attached to the farms, allegedly shot and killed 30-year-old Sphamandla Xulu who was on his way to go fishing in a dam on a privately owned farm.
The community is accusing farm owners and farm watch security personnel of terrorising them.
