Zimbabwe’s ambassador to South Africa, Isaac Moyo has been recalled back to Harare to take over the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO).
This is the latest change made by new Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Moyo was serving as Zimbabwe’s envoy to South Africa and neighbouring Lesotho. He will take over the top position in the CIO from retired Major-General Happyton Bonyongwe.
The CIO was feared by many in Zimbabwe for allegedly targeting opponents of former President Robert Mugabe and his Zanu-PF party.
