ZANU-PF leadership spat escalates

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Tensions are escalating in Zimbabwe’s ruling ZANU-PF as First Vice President Mphoko said in a statement that Mnangagwa was destabilizing the country and fanning ethnic tensions.

This comes after Mnangagwa said for the first time that he was poisoned in September contradicting President Robert Mugabe’s statement that he wasn’t.

Mnangagwa says irresponsible statements will not be condoned.

“The statement is banked on causing alarm, disunity and despondency among peace loving Zimbabweans and the intimated agenda may exist only in the mind of the author. I have an impeccable history of unflinching loyalty to the party and his Excellency, the President Robert Mugabe and have never acted in a manner that undermines his authority or the stability of Zimbabwe,” says Mnangagwa.
