Zandile Khumalo will continue testifying in the trial of five men accused of the murder of soccer star, Senzo Meyiwa on Friday in the High Court in Pretoria.
Five men are on trial for the murder of the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates star. Meyiwa was shot at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, eight years ago.
Khumalo is the sister of Meyiwa’s then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo and was also in her mother’s house in Voslorus when Meyiwa was shot in 2014.
Khumalo is the fifth state witness to take the stand in the trial. She broke down when she recalled what happened that day.
“Are you guys even aware of what you did to our lives? Are you guys even aware of what you did to us as a family that day? The damage that you guys caused.”
The High Court in Pretoria is hearing a series of events prior to the shooting and killing of Meyiwa.
Kelly Khumalo’s sister, Zandile has taken a stand after the presiding judge in the matter made an order to allow a live broadcast of her testimony.
Khumalo was present in the house when Meyiwa was shot and killed.
“When the deceased and Kelly came back where did they sit? They stood outside, they stood outside. At some points, Mthokozisi and Tumelo went out to smoke while Longwe was still eating. At some time I just heard them just close to the door.”
