Yeye called up to join Bafana Bafana CHAN team

South African National U23 coach David Notoane has called up former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United midfield maestro Reneilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsolonyane in a bid to reinforce his side ahead of their Africa Championships Cup second leg this Saturday.

Bafana Bafana will be looking to turn their fortunes around when they welcome Lesotho for the second leg at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto, following a 3-2 loss in Maseru this past weekend.

Notoane explains the decision behind adding the Bafana Bafana veteran to the camp.

The 37-year-old, who was released by SuperSport United at the end of last season has also found his new love in football, coaching.

Notoane, who is in charge of Bafana Bafana until further notice, adds that Letsholonyane joined his side to fulfill more than just one role.

Despite having conceded three goals in the first leg, Notoane says the plan is not to concede any goals on Saturday.

He adds that they are confident of achieving their goal following today successful practice match against Jomo Cosmos.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns juniors’ coach, Notoane, outlined the importance of competitions like CHAN and COSAFA especially with the bigger picture being the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. – Report by Thando Gqamane
