Work resumes at Ditsobotla municipality after week of interruptions

Workers at the Ditsobotla Local Municipality in the North West are expected back on Monday morning after being forced to leave their offices last week.

A group of residents from Boikhutso had confronted the workers demanding that they be employed by the municipality.

Municipal spokesperson, Pius Batsile, states that security has been strengthened to ensure the safety of workers.

“We expect employees of Ditsobotla Local Municipality to be back at work on Monday because the municipality has ensured that there is safety in the municipal premises.

“The municipality has appointed a new security company to ensure that are employees are safe and protected in the work place. We expected that service delivery will be normal and the municipality will continue to provide services to our community after there have been interruptions the whole of last week,” says Batsile.
