The Artscape Theatre’s popular Women’s Humanity Arts Festival is moving online due to COVID-19.
A series of live and pre-recorded events will be available at www.artscape.co.za from Monday until the 31st of August to coincide with Women’s month. It is funded by the City of Cape Town.
The programme offers dance and theatre performances, panel discussions and podcasts.
Woman Zone’s Nancy Richards says even the Women’s Humanity Walk, which draws thousands of participants, will be done online.
“It’ll include the virtual walk which will be seen on YouTube. It’ll include podcasts, performances from JazzArt, the Absa Drag Show. A whole lot of different things so, all of that will be online, all absolutely free. You know in these days when everybody’s feeling a little bit desperate, very, very low. I think even if we can just see it online, it will bring us all together. Give us some inspiration.”
As part of this year’s Artscape’s Virtual Women’s Humanity Arts Festival 2020 #Womensfest2020, Woman Zone have launched their podcast series! Listen to THE AFRICA COOKBOOK with Portia Mbau and Lumai De Smidt and MY MOTHER MY MADNESS with Colleen Higgs.https://t.co/6772yN9zGJ
