Many are wearing pink to create awareness of the illness that has become one of the leading causes of mortality among women globally.

Women in several parts of the country are continuing to raise awareness on breast cancer. This as the country observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Many are wearing pink to create awareness of the illness that has become one of the leading causes of mortality among women globally.

Febe Meyer, spokesperson of the Pink Drive in Johannesburg, says several events have been taking place all over South Africa during October – with the 5th Annual Bra-Dash Run/Walk taking place next weekend.

Meyer says thousands of women and men dressed in pink bras are expected at the starting point in Parkhurst, Johannesburg.

“We invite all men, women children to put on your pink bra for breast cancer awareness and to raise funds for our cause. It is really a fun way of participating and showing your support. Any level of fitness can be a part of this event.”
