The woman who accuses Rivers of Living Waters Church leader, Bishop Steven Zondo of rape, says she had no reason to stop her late husband from having a relationship with the bishop.

It emerged during cross-examination, that the pastor had a cordial relationship with the witness’s late husband and was also a regular client at the husband’s barbershop.

Zondo is facing 10 charges, including defeating the ends of justice and indecent assault in the High Court in Pretoria.

“Did you tell your late husband I do not want to see him? He has hurt me in the past, I don’t want him as a customer, why are you friends with him,” asked Advocate Piet Pistorious.

The witness responded; “ I was not telling my husband who to associate with or not, and it was not my place to tell him to chase the accused away from the barbershop especially if they are there to share a word of God. That’s not how we lived with my husband.”

The case continues in the High Court:
