Middendorp has been attending the last two Sundowns matches at home against AmaZulu FC and Highlands Park to get insight on their opposition.

Wits remain top of the ABSA Premiership log, despite their loss to Kaizer Chiefs Wednesday night. Leonardo Castro and Hendrick Ekstein scored to give Chiefs a 2-0 victory, and to lift them to fifth position on the log.

Amakhosi coach Ernst Middendorp has hailed the character his side displayed to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat to Sundowns.

“I’m absolutely happy with the performance, with the way that we handled it today. Not too emotional, with a clear structure. Here and there a little bit of rushing in the first half. But anyway, in the right moment we scored today,  and I think actually I’m quite happy with what I’ve seen today, knowing that the package is coming every three days.”
