Wits hope to close the season on a high note

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Bidvest Wits are likely to finish the season empty-handed and in third position of Premier Soccer League table.

After starting off the current season on a low note, Wits appeared to be coming back in the midway, but it was not to be as the Johannesburg side conceded number of goals.

Wits head coach Gavin Hunt still feels like his charges had the ball on their court to take the title.

The students hope at the league title started to fade after their 1-1 draw against Pretoria outfit SuperSport United last month.

Hunt’s charges will be heading to Durban for their final clash against Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday. Hunt says that they will give it their all.

Echoing Hunt’s word is Wits Defender Buhle Mkhwanazi who admits that they let the title chance slip from their hands.

Mkhwanzi points out the positive message the team sent throughout the season, that they are capable of winning the league in future.

Despite the mistakes The Clever boys are not discouraged and the 29 year old defender adds that they hope to close the season on a high note against Arrows. – Report by Sinovuyo Ndudane
