Wine and Whatever Experience festival back with a bang

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Various wines from the Western Cape are on display at the Wine and Whatever Experience being held at the Diaz Hotel in Mossel Bay. The festival was put on hold last year due to COVID-19, but it has returned with a bang to celebrate its second year.

In partnership with Western Cape tourism body, WESGRO, food and wine fundis will have a chance to sample products from farms around the province. Organiser Alewyn Dippenaar says the wine industry plays an important role in the economy.

“During this time you get an opportunity to taste different cultivars. We try to make it clear to everybody that although a pinotage is a pinotage, between the West Coast and the Boland and the Southern Cape, it tastes different. Executive chef Emile Nel will also have a demonstration on Friday and Saturday where you you will get to taste a wine that’s 20 years old,” says Dippenaar.
