Western Cape Premier Alan Winde has reshuffled his provincial Cabinet following the resignation of one minister and the dismissal of another.
Education MEC Debbie Schäfer will be taking an offer in the United Kingdom while Community Safety’s Albert Fritz was fired following allegations of sexual misconduct.
Winde announced changes to the configuration of various departments like Human Settlements, Community Safety and Transport.
The changes will see among others David Maynier as the Provincial Education Minister while Reagan Allen will become the provincial Minister of Community Safety.
Winde says the aim is to improve service delivery within the restrained resources.
1/9 I am excited to announce these changes to my Provincial Cabinet & by the momentum I believe that they will create so that we keep on making sure that, here in the WC, action speaks louder than words.

Well-wishes for Schäfer
Winde says she was a strong and tenacious leader that ensured a well-run education system in the province.
1/4 I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to @DebbieSchafer for her excellent service to the people of the WC, especially our province’s children. Debbie will be leaving us to take up a position in the legal sector in the UK, joining some of her family who live there. pic.twitter.com/mzJUr1P7mw
