Western Cape police arrest two suspects found in possession of uncut diamonds

Western Cape police say they have arrested two suspects near Klawer, who were found in possession of uncut diamonds and rubies. Police spokesperson, Malcolm Pojie says officers were conducting a roadblock on the N-7 today when they made the arrest.

Pojie says they confiscated 29 unpolished diamonds, three rubies and a substantial amount of cash.

“The stones were confiscated and the two suspects, aged 33 and 46, were arrested on the spot. They are due to appear in the Klawer Magistrates’ court, on Monday on charges related to the illegal possession of precious stones.”
