Angry residents of Welkom in the Free State say they’re living in fear following the spate of killings of young women. The area has experienced a number of killings in which bodies of the victims were found dumped in bushes and dumping sites.
Recently the body of a 15-year-old girl was found burned, while another body of a woman was found. Residents want action be taken against Gender-Based -Violence in the area.
” We as the youth of Hani Park, we are very angry with this. We want it to end,” says one resident.
“This thing of man going around killing young women is not sitting well with us. The justice system is not doing a great job,” added another frustrated resident.
