WEF to grapple impact of famine

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The World Economic Forum (WEF) will among other issues grapple with the impact of conflict and famine. Speaking on the sidelines, Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba has called for a collective approach in addressing the challenges.

Africa is blowing the horn and there is reason to celebrate. The continent has experienced development and relative peace.

Delegates will discuss ways and means to improve the state of the economy on the continent in the coming days.

The Finance Minister says tackling the problems of conflict, needs a collective approach. He says they have to work together as ministers and that it can’t be just the responsibility of security cluster.

A notion supported by WEF Africa.
The other thorny issue is the famine that has crippled countries such as Somalia, South Sudan and part of Kenya.

The official opening will be Thursday.
