Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Velenkosini Hlabisa has warned that they will not be afraid to recall under-performing municipal representatives.

While addressing the media in Durban on Sunday, Hlabisa outlined the IFP’s plans for the municipalities it retained and won.

He also announced that a team would work on establishing the party’s role in the hung municipalities where it has the highest number of votes.

The party retained 13 municipalities largely in the northern parts of the province.

Hlabisa says the IFP will not form coalitions with the African National Congress (ANC).

“We have no intention of coming to the voters in 2024 to apologize for our poor performance and ask for another chance, we are not prepared to do that. Complacency and mediocre services will not be tolerated. Good and competent governance is what people need. We will give the electorate every reason to believe in the IFP’s solid record of integrity and good governance,” says Hlabisa.

IFP closes the door for any coalition with the ANC:
