As the May 8 elections draw closer, political parties mudslinging is intensifying with the FF Plus, BLF saga and the DA vs GOOD battle taking centre stage.
FF Plus is challenging the BLF party for its black people only policy. This after the party lost an appeal against the IEC Chief Electoral officer’s decision to deregister BLF.
Meanwhile, the Cape Town High Court has also referred the telemarketing case between Good party leader Patricia de Lille and the Democratic Alliance (DA) to the Electoral Court.
Elections expert and IEMSA executive chair, Terry Tselane says such squabbles between parties and the contravention of the Electoral Act is quite common during elections.
