One of the three key witnesses in the deaths of 143 mentally ill patients, suspended Gauteng Mental Health Director Makgabo Manamela was expected to testify when the Life Esidimeni hearings resume in Parktown, Johannesburg on Monday morning.
Speaking through her lawyer Lerato Mashilane, Manamela says she would like to go through certain documents and get more information from the Gauteng Health Department.
The Life Esidimeni hearings are continuing in Parktown, Johannesburg following the death of 143 patients who died after being transferred from Life Esidimeni facilities to unlicensed and ill-equipped NGOs.
