Dr Barney Selebano is expected to make his appearance on Tuesday

The Gauteng Provincial Government has appealed to its officials who were involved in the Life Esidimeni relocations to cooperate when invited to testify at the hearings in Parktown, Johannesburg, so that it can be concluded speedily.

This follows Monday’s High Court’s dismissal of suspended head of the department of health, Dr Barney Selebano’s urgent application seeking to set aside a subpoena ordering him to testify.

Selebano is expected to make his appearance on Tuesday. He’s the second senior government official to be compelled to testify through a subpoena after suspended Gauteng Mental Health Director Dr Makgabo Manamela, after they both refused to appear voluntarily.
